River camp is the ultimate group accommodation. The beautiful location of the camp adds to the atmosphere of unspoilt nature. Situated next to the Grootspruit River at the foot of the valley wall, it is an outstanding spot for groups to relax in the tranquility of nature. The camp is positioned at the mid-way point of the stunning 23km Protea Trail. The camp has ample camping space, a dormitary (sleeping 20 people,) a kitchen/ dining area, equipped with a gas stove and fridge, and a large fire pit with braai facilities. There is hot running water, but please take note that there is no electricity, barring the batteries powering the LED lights.
Warning: Due to heavy rainfall some of the internal roads on the reserve have been damaged due to erosion. Please travel carefully when using these roads. We are working on repairing them as soon as possible. We recommend high rise vehicles only for access to the River camp and Mountain Huts.
